Omar Infante had a two-run single in a four-run third in Répondre en citant presents its latest weekly power rankings for the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League staff. Rankings were weighted evenly between separate lists made by TSN Radio host and soccer analyst Gareth Wheeler as well as TSN.cas soccer editors. 1. Arsenal (Last Week- 2) The Gunners reclaimed the top of the table with a 4-1 victory over Norwich City.  Mesut Ozil was strong once again for Arsenal as he took a turn as provider instead of facilitator with two goals in the match.  Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere also both scored high quality goals. 2. Chelsea (LW- 3) A David Luiz mistake put Chelsea behind, but a strong response led them to an emphatic 4-1 victory over Cardiff City.  Samuel Etoo was allowed to score a controversial goal that turned out to be the winning marker, an Eden Hazard brace and a goal from Oscar provided the rest.  Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands for berating an official. 3. Manchester City (LW- 4) Sergio Aguero scored twice and David Silva added a late insurance marker as City cruised to a 3-1 victory over West Ham.  Alvaro Negredo had another strong game as he continues to build a dangerous partnership with Aguero.  The victory moves Manchester City into the top four of the table. 4. Liverpool (LW- 1) Daniel Sturridge rescued a point for Liverpool after he fired home in the 72nd minute for a 2-2 draw against 10-man Newcastle.  Steven Gerrard converted a penalty for Newcastles other marker after Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa was shown a red card.  5. Tottenham (LW- 6) Andros Townsend continued his solid play for Spurs as he and Roberto Soldado found the net in a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.  Townsends goal was actually meant to be a cross but ended up slipping past Villa keeper Brad Guzan for the opening marker.  He almost added to his tally a few more times before the final whistle but in the end settled for a goal and a strong performance. 6. Southampton (LW- 5) Adam Lallana scored in the 89th minute to give the Saints a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United.  Southampton was strong for stretches of the game and in the end walked away with a deserved point from the contest.  Keeper Artur Boruc was solid, delivering key saves throughout the game. 7. Everton (LW- Cool Back in the lineup and back on the scoreboard, Steven Pienaar returned after six weeks to give Everton a 2-1 victory over Hull City.  Kevin Mirallas opened the scoring in the eighth minute for Everton, Leighton Baines and Sylvain Distin were also strong in the victory. 8. Manchester United (LW- 7) The Champions once again were denied a win at home after a late goal forced them to settle for a 1-1 draw against Southampton.   Robin van Persie put his side ahead with a goal in the 26th minute, a lead they held until the 89th when they gave up the equalizer.  United is now eighth in the table, eight points out of the top spot. 9. West Bromwich Albion (LW- 11) The Baggies were not able to find a winning marker as they were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw against Stoke.  Youssouf Mulumbu was denied a penalty shout that could have decided the game if awarded.  Nicolas Anelka was brought into the game after the hour mark but he wasnt able to change his teams fortunes. 10. Newcastle United (LW- 13)  A back and forth contest left 10-man Newcastle with a 2-2 draw with Liverpool.  Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa was sent off in the 40th minute and though Newcastle took the lead, they werent able to see it through to the end of the game.   Yohan Cabaye and Paul Dummett were on target in the draw for Newcastle. 11. Aston Villa (LW- 9) Andreas Weimann came closest to scoring for Villa but thats the best they could do in a 2-0 loss to Tottenham.  Christian Benteke came into the game in the 61st minute and also had some influence for the visitors but they werent able to crack the scoreboard. 12. Swansea City- (LW- 14) A dominant home performance led to a 4-0 victory for Swansea over Sunderland.  Jonathan De Guzman and Wilfried Bony both scored while the Swans also benefitted from two own goals in the win. 13. Hull City (LW- 10) Yannick Sagbos 30th minute marker was all the Tigers could muster in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Everton.  Injury to insult for Hull was losing Danny Graham to a knee injury, he is expected to miss three-weeks of action.  Abdoulaye Faye had two chances to grab at least a point for Hull but was not able to find the back of the net. 14. Fulham (LW- 1Cool After falling behind 1-0, Pajtim Kasamis wonder goal started a comeback that ended in a 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace.  Steve Sidwells goal that stood up as the winner was also a highlight reel marker but the Kasami goal is the one that could be goal of the year.  Dimitar Berbatov and Philippe Senderos also scored for Fulham in the win. 15. West Ham United (LW- 12) The Hammers had trouble dealing with the pace and skill of Manchester City, as they lost at home 3-1.  Ricardo Vaz Te scored the only goal for West Ham but was also defensively responsible for Sergio Agueros second which turned out to be the winner.  West Ham opened the game strong but in the end just didnt have enough to compete. 16. Stoke City (LW- 15) Stephen Ireland wasted the Potters best chance as they split the points with West Brom in a 0-0 draw.  Neither team was able to take control of the game as even the possession numbers were split down the middle at the final whistle.  Stokes four goals are the lowest total in the Premier League this season. 17. Norwich City (LW- 17) Jonathan Howsons 70th minute marker cast some doubt into the contest but in the end was not nearly enough in a 4-1 loss to Arsenal.  Norwich held out against the pressure from their opponents before giving up two goals in five minutes late in the game that sealed their fate. 18. Cardiff City (LW- 16) After taking a 1-0 lead over Chelsea, Cardiff slumped to a 4-1 defeat thanks to defensive mistakes and a controversial referee decision.  Keeper David Marshall was bouncing the ball when he was dispossessed by Chelseas Samuel Etoo leading to the winning goal.  Cardiff was not able to keep up with the pace of the game over 90 minutes. 19. Crystal Palace (LW- 19)  Adrian Mariappa opened the scoring for Palace before they were overrun by Fulham in a 4-1 loss.  From that point it was all downhill for the home side as they conceded twice before the half and two more times after the break. 20. Sunderland (LW- 20) After holding firm in the first half, Sunderland had a nightmare second half conceding three-goals in seven minutes as they fell 4-0 to Swansea.  Gus Poyets first game in charge of the squad was not one to remember as his team managed only one shot on target.  Two of the three goals were credited as own goals and the fourth marker was an 80th minute penalty. Carlos Hyde 49ers Jersey. Rudy Gay made the tying basket in regulation and a 3-pointer in overtime that gave Sacramento the lead for good, and Fredette scored a career-high 24 points to help the Kings beat the Knicks 106-101 on Wednesday night. Joe Staley 49ers Jersey. The Eastern Conference-leading Celtics finished their recent trek at 3-1 on Monday in Salt Lake City when Rajon Rondo made a key jumper with 24.1 seconds remaining, as Boston held off the Utah Jazz, 107-102, at EnergySolutions Arena. However, after review it became clear Kadri kicked the puck in. Craig Dahl 49ers Jersey.C. Lions 35-14, was named the CFLs offensive player of the week Tuesday. Sheets recorded his ninth 100-yard rushing performance of the season to tie the Riders club record. Dwight Clark 49ers Jersey. The injury will keep the Finnish forward out of the Olympics. The 29-year-old has 20 goals and 41 points in 56 games this season, his first with Tampa Bay.San Franciscos Madison Bumgarner can further cement his status as the best postseason pitcher in the game on Sunday, as he tries to move the Giants to the brink of their third title in five years against Kansas City in a pivotal World Series Game 5 at AT&T Park. Its going to be a good battle, San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy said. But well say the fact that hes had his normal rest, I feel a lot better, to be honest. Bumgarner gave up one run over seven innings to beat the Royals in Game 1. His only mistake was a two-out home run to Royals catcher Salvador Perez in the seventh inning, which ended his MLB-record scoreless innings streak on the road at 33 2/3 frames. It was also the first run he had surrendered in three World Series starts, spanning 21 innings, dating back to 2012. Bumgarners 3-1 with a 1.40 ERA in five starts this postseason and hes also won all three of his World Series starts with an 0.41 ERA. His six straight postseason starts of seven-plus innings with seven or fewer baserunners is also an MLB record. His only loss this postseason, though, came at AT&T Park. I feel as good as Ive felt all year right now, which is fortunate for me, said Bumgarner, who has thrown 256 innings this season. There had been a report that Bumgarner demanded to start Saturdays Game 4 on three days rest, which also could have made him available for a potential seventh game, albeit again on short rest. Everyone refuted that on Saturday, though. It sounds like Im trying to run the team, which Im certainly not, Bumgarner said. It doesnt make any sense to me why that would happen. I never said anything to anyone about anything. We knew that was an option, and I prepared where I would be ready for Game 4 or 5 or any of them. Thats just ridiculous. Regardless, Bochy stuck with Ryan Vogelsong, who lasted only 2 2/3 innings, but San Francisco bailed him out and evened this best-of-seven series at two games apiece, as Pablo Sandoval knocked in the go--ahead runs with a single in the sixth inning and the Giants scored seven unanswered runs in an 11-4 win.dddddddddddd The Giants banged out 16 hits, including 13 singles in the win. Joe Panik hit two of their three doubles, driving in two runs. Hunter Pence also doubled and finished with three hits and three RBI and Gregor Blanco singled twice and scored three times. Even reliever Yusmeiro Petit (1-0), who threw three scoreless innings for the win, contributed to the total, becoming the first relief pitcher in 23 years with a hit in the World Series. Everybody did something to contribute, said Bochy. Omar Infante had a two-run single in a four-run third inning for the Royals, who won the previous two games, including a 3-2 victory in San Francisco on Friday. Oh, man, somewhere inside of me, secretly I had hoped that it would go seven games for the excitement and the thrill of it, Royals manager Ned Yost said. Sure looks that way. On Sunday, Kansas City will turn to its ace, James Shields, who has been anything but Big Game James this postseason, pitching to an 8.05 ERA in four starts.. Shields was able to record just nine outs against the Giants in Game 1, as he was banged around for five runs and seven hits in four-plus frames. He is now just 1-3 with an 8.26 ERA in six playoff outings since 2010. Youre always working, Shields said. I dont think Ill ever stop working until Im done playing baseball. ... We went into the bullpen, fixed a few things mechanically, and hopefully it translates into the game. And Im sure it will. I feel really good. This is the 44th time that the World Series has been tied 2-2. Of the previous 43, the winner of Game 5 has gone on to win the Series 28 times (65.1 percent), but interestingly, just four times in the last 11 occasions. These teams actually met in the regular season, as the Royals completed a three-game sweep at Kauffman Stadium. Game 6 will be played on Tuesday at Kauffman Stadium.
