Durham, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The fourth-ranked Duke Blue Devils put the nations longest non-conference homecourt winning streak on the line on Sunday afternoon, as they play host to the Army Black Knights at Cameron Indoor Stadium. It is a reunion for Mike Krzyzewski, who played under Bob Knight at Army and then coached Army from 1975 to 1980. He took over at Duke in 1980 and has gone on to be the winningest coach in Division I history with 989 career wins. Six of those victories have come to begin this season, including a 93-54 rout of Furman last time out, extending the teams home win streak against non- conference opponents to 112 games. Zach Spikers Black Knights are also off to a flawless start to the season with five wins in as many games. The team comes in off its largest margin of victory to date, an 80-54 whipping of Binghamton. Armys 5-0 start is its best since the 1976-77 season under Krzyzewski. Duke holds a 9-3 series advantage over Army, including a 4-0 mark in games played in Durham. This is the first meeting since the 2002-03 season, a 101-53 victory for Duke at home. Armys fast start can be attributed to strong play at the offensive end of the floor. The team has been efficient to say the least, averaging a hearty 81.2 ppg on .467 shooting. The Black Knights have also done a great job in forcing turnovers (18.4 per game) and hold a +4.2 turnover margin as a result. Kyle Wilson may be shooting only .391 from the floor, but leads the team in scoring at a hefty 21.4 ppg. The junior guard receives scoring support from junior forward Tanner Plomb, who pours in 16.4 ppg. Kevin Ferguson is just under double figures with 9.0 ppg. Wilson was once again stellar in the teams win last time out, as he went 9- of-15 from the floor with five 3-pointers en route to a game-high 25 points. Wilson however, was the only Black Knight to reach double digits, as Tanner Omlid was the second-highest scoring threat against Binghamton with nine points in 12 minutes of work off the bench. As good as Armys numbers are on the year, Dukes are simply better. The Blue Devils are getting it done at a high rate on both ends of the floor, resulting in a gaudy +33.2 scoring margin. Offensively, Duke is shooting .529 from the floor, including .410 from behind the arc, for 90.0 ppg. Defensively, the team is yielding just 56.8 ppg and holding opponents to .390 efficiency from the floor that includes a meager .200 from 3-point range. Freshman center Jahlil Okafor has lived up to his billing as the top recruit in the nation. The 7- footer is converting nearly 65 percent of his shots and is averaging 17.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Senior guard Quinn Cook pours in 16.0 ppg and has a team-high 20 3-pointers to his credit. Other contributors of note include freshman forward Justise Winslow (14.0 ppg), junior forward Amile Jefferson (9.7 ppg, 8.3 rpg) and freshman point guard Tyus Jones (7.7 ppg, 5.3 apg). Duke shot a scorching .576 from the floor last time out, leading to the lopsided win over the Paladins. Okafor was once again lethal inside, hitting 12-of-14 shots en route to a game-high 24 points. Jefferson logged a double- double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Matt Jones and Cook chipped in with 13 and 11 points, respectively. A dunk by Haslem tied the game 2-2 and the Heat led 34-22 after the first quarter.
